Steptoe

Just like Steptoe & Son (that's Sanford & Son to our american cousins), this program will clear out your old junk. There are many programs out there to reduce hard drive clutter and/or increase privacy by covering your browser tracks, but, as usual, I couldn't find one with the features which I wanted for free. So I coded this. It's a work in progress insomachas I'm willing to incorporate any new feature which anyone requests.

Current features

• clean temp directory
• clean windows temp directory
• empty recycle bin
• delete zero length files
• clear browser cache
• munch cookies
• clear URL history
• user defined wild card search options for files to delete (backups, temp files, etc)
• deleted files may be permanently erased, or simply moved to the recycle bin

To-do list (please mail me with suggestions/requests for new features)

• save/restore program options to/from registry
• delete empty directories
• a /AUTO command line param which starts the program in a 1 x 1 pixel windowand runs immediatley w/o key presses (e.g at shutdown, or timed)
• filter user specified file deletion also by date
• locale detection - in the USA the program should automatically rename itself to Sanford :-)
• auto-update from web site
